Second Annual Blessing of the Animals Is October 6

Everyone who attended last year’s Heatherhope Farm Blessing of the Animals said it was an inspiration to them and they would like to do it again.

So, we have planned our second annual Blessing for Saturday, October 6, at 11:00 a.m.

For all of Christian history there has been a special reverence for the animals that God has given into our care. Of course, our companion animals care for us in turn. They make our homes more alive, they are atuned to our emotions and they regularly lower our blood pressure and bring us deep healing.

For this we thank God. We call on God’s help in providing for and protecting our animals. And we mark the loss of those animals that have died during this past year.

You are invited to bring your pets and any remembrances you have of pets you have lost this year. Invite your friends to bring their pets as well.  The service will last only about 30 or 40 minutes, but you can feel free to linger to enjoy refreshments and a look at the sheep and herding and guard dogs of Heatherhope Farm.

Though it’s not requred, we ask you to contact us to let us know if you are coming. (The service will be free of charge and there is no offering gathered.) Contact us at 815-895-9736 or at heatherhopefarm@gmail.com.

For directions to the farm just click on the “directions” tab at the top of this web page.
