Sheepdog Demonstration at Kline Creek Farm April 16/17

Once again the dogs of Heatherhope Farm will strut their stuff at Kline Creek Farm, an 1890’s historic farm and part of the Forest Preserve system of DuPage County, Illinois.

John with Mirk and Jock at Kline Creek Farm in 2010.

The demonstrations will run from 10:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, April 16 and 17. The farm is at 1N600 County Farm Road, West Chicago, Illinois 60185-4435. It is between North Avenue and Geneva Road, on the west side of the road. Entrance is free.

Visitors on these days will be able not only to see our dogs show how sheep are herded by dogs, but also view demonstrations of sheep shearing and the spinning and weaving of wool fibers.

Connie, John and the dogs have been part of this great annual event for many years now and it has become a favorite for the public, attracting record-breaking crowds to Kline Creek Farm. We hope that this year you will be able to join us.

You may phone us or the farm (630-876-5900) for further information.

About John

John is a retired pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America who has served congregations for over 40 years, including in rural, suburban, campus ministry and urban settings. His love of Border Collie sheepdogs has been fortified by his many friendships with shepherds all around the world.
